Easter 2017

We had our family Easter celebration the day before Easter. We wanted the kids to hunt eggs together and have some cousin time.

It was such a great day. I planned a brunch menu and everything was so good. I wish I could have eaten more! You can visit me on IG for photo of the whole spread. Yum!!

Here was my menu and follow this link for my Pinterest board and recipes used.
– Eggs Benedict Casserole
– Easy Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread
– Asparagus
– Sausages
– Caprese Salad
– Fruit Salad

William usually has to sit in between the girls, at their request. Haha!

Lucas and Pearl were asleep during the egg hunt so we did separate hunts for the each of them with a few eggs.

And I had fun doing a little mini shoot with this sweetie. She was checking out the flowers and being adorable.

Easter 2014

I really looked forward to Easter this year. It was the first family gathering since the birth of my niece, Sofia. We all enjoyed being back together, enjoying time together and a family meal.

We started the morning with William’s Easter basket and coloring eggs. Nothing like last minute, huh? I forgot to hard boil them Friday night so we could do it on Saturday.

I was hesitant to get a bunch of candy for his basket so I opted for a new book, bubbles and a construction toy. He loved the plastic eggs and pretended to crack them open and fry them.

William had fun coloring eggs but I am glad I only did a few. I laugh about how much he loves eggs but only eats them on occasion.

He was pretty proud of his eggs. Love this shot.

He was probably wondering what we were supposed to do now that they were colored and covered in stickers.

We also had to have a practice egg hunt before the real one with Maria later that day. James hid all of William’s plastic eggs in the backyard and little man caught on quick and had a blast. James re-hid the eggs a few more times after that. It was so much fun to watch. Last year he had no clue what Easter was about.

Sunday family dinners at my mom’s house are quickly changing. It went from three newlywed couples to controlled chaos with 4 grand kids added to the mix. I love it. I sat around the dinner table and just took it all in and how much it’s changed in 6 years.

New parents!

William loves his little cousins and helping. It’s so sweet to watch how he interacts with them.

And then it was time for the egg hunt with Maria. William was super focused and filled up his basket.

The cheering section….

This is all they would give us for a photo of them together. Silly kids.

Not sure what the guys were playing here but William was interested for a bit.

More Easter goodies from Grandma.

And of course a family photo. My boys are so handsome.

I hope you all had blessed Easter!

Easter Sunday | 03.31.2013

What a difference a year can make. Last Easter William pretty much slept all day long. He was just a month old. Look how tiny he was!! I love this photo of him and my mom. Of course, she was the one he fell asleep on…Grandma, the baby whisperer.

This year, I knew he wouldn’t really understand eggs and dyeing and hunting for them but I put together a basket for him anyway. Just a few things from the $1 section at Wal-Mart and a couple things I found at Ikea. Guess what he liked the most? The Easter grass. Go figure. I had to hide it otherwise it would have been all over the living room.

We went to Grandma’s for dinner with the rest of the family and friends, Kyle, Mandy, Zoe and Leah. It was a little wet so we hid a few eggs on the porch (I think more for us than the kids). William found the cascarones and after poking his finger through the tissue paper, proceeded to try and eat the confetti.

Not sure why he decided to hide under the table…maybe protecting his loot from the girls.

All the kiddos in their Easter clothes.

And a quick family photo with a wiggly boy.

Last year and a little fussy.

I have to say too, it was a delicious dinner…such good food!! My mom made a ham and we had green beans, sweet potatoes, salad, rolls and macaroni and cheese. If you want some good mac n’ cheese, you have to try this recipe. My sister, Jessica, the dessert queen made an amazing pie. Salted caramel and bananas and chocolate, oh my! I love holidays.
