Shop the Newest Wrinkle | Now Open

I recently posted about how I set up a store on Poshmark. It’s been a time suck without results so I will be closing it down. I still wanted a little shop though so James found StoreEnvy for me and I just opened a new “store”. Welcome to my closet – The Newest Wrinkle!

Use code: OPEN for 10% of all orders until next Saturday, November 29th.

If I know you personally, you are welcome to message me to pay with cash or check and avoid PayPal. I will also knock off the delivery fee (which I am trying to keep to the low price of $3).

Down the road, I would like to add handmade items as well.

Fingers crossed this is a successful venture! Thanks for shopping!

Oh, you’ll always be able to easily access my closet too by using the link in the menu bar.

In My Closet | Fall for Equestrian

This just feels a little bit equestrian to me, it has the look. Maybe a more feminine version? I actually don’t know if I’d really wear all this together…it’s one of those outfits I’d put on then change into something else because I’d chicken out. I don’t want to chicken out though, it’s so cute and would be great this fall.

What do ya’ll think? Should I wear this combination or try something else? I love the green skinny jeans and know I’ll wear them a lot. I really like the tortoise necklace with the lace too.

Shirt | JC Penny (a good substitute) – Picked it up this past Spring for $7
Jeans | GAP outlet
Boots | They are like 3 years old and I’d gladly add these or these to my closet
Necklace | Vintage

UPDATE: I am currently trying to sell these jeans on Poshmark! I went to try them on and did not like how they fit. The calves were too tight.

I was telling James about how I was blogging outfits and he kind of laughed. Yeah, it’s a little funny and I don’t really consider myself a fashion blogger. I love clothes but am doing this more for myself so I don’t stand in my closet and feel like I have nothing to wear. It helps me to think outside the same old outfits I repeat.

Recently on the Rachael Ray show her gal, Gretta announced her new book. One of the ideas from Gretta’s book was to have a space in your closet with outfits put together. These are your go-to outfits that you know and love. It’ll make getting ready easy and you know you’ll be put together and comfortable. I was like, hey! I am already doing that, just virtually (and saving space in my closet!). So, I must be on the right track with my “In My Closet” posts. Yes, I know some of them I have yet to wear or may not wear but at least I have a starting point. So, I’ll do my best to keep up with these posts and I’d love your feedback on them.

Selling on Poshmark

A few weeks back I tried my hand at having an Instasale on Instagram. I had a few things in my closet that were just collecting dust but were still in great shape or practically new. I sold two vintage scarves and that was it. I didn’t really expect much from it so the one sale was great. I’ve tried a local consignment shop but with no success. They really only buy “teenager” stuff, like teens and early twenties. There is one other I may try as well if this venture with Poshmark doesn’t “pay” off.

I really don’t want to give this stuff to Goodwill, it’s really nice, so I started looking again and came across Poshmark. Also, Facebook kept “suggesting” them to me….how do they know? Anyway, Poshmark is basically like Instagram and Facebook. You take pictures of what you’re selling, add details, a price and voila, you have a mini shop. There is a little effort in the beginning to acquire followers but that helps get buyers. They also have parties you can join to share your items with new people who may not be following you.

I have yet to sell anything but am keeping my fingers crossed. Do you have a Poshmark closet? Come find me!!

In My Closet | Daring Floral

I bought these jeans earlier this year and got a great deal on them. They aren’t something I would have paid full price for because they are trendy and not something I’d get a lot of use out of. But they are so pretty!

I asked my Instagram followers a couple weeks back to help me with what to pair with them. I tried gray, beige and chambray…all of them pretty drab. The fashionable ladies of Instagram recommended jewel tone and it was perfect! I think it definitely needs to be a blue/green or magenta jewel tone. An emerald looked odd and purple was a no go. This was the only option left in my closet and I like how it looks. I even changed out the jewelry – one set golds, the other silver – for two different looks.

Blouse | Mossimo for Target (I think this would be a great color too)
Jeans | The Limited
Shoes | Franco Sarto (try this pair!)
Earrings| Vintage (good option)
Bracelets| World Market (or these)

And with silver jewelry…maybe a little more casual? A different shoe would help dress it down too. I like these

I am excited to go out and find a few more shirts that would work especially some that aren’t as dressy so I can wear the jeans more often.

In My Closet | Day or Night

I love a good deal, I mean who doesn’t? And good deals on clothes are even better. The top and shorts only cost me $12 total! I am really excited to wear this outfit and maybe even add tights when the weather cools a bit. It’s a big maybe though…I may not be daring enough.

Top | Olivia Moon from Marshalls
Shorts | Mossimo from Target
Sandals | Bandolino from forever ago (These would also be cute!)
Earrings | World Market (These would be great!)

I think this outfit could be great for around town running errands, evening drinks on South Congress or brunch on Saturday morning. If I do wear this and am just doing errands, I’d probably wear different shoes. I love these sandals but all day wear is rough.

The shirt is kind of like a t-shirt in the front but more sheer in the back. Not just a boring tee.

In My Closet | Pretty in Lace

I really should go shopping more often with my younger sister, Jessica. I always find better deals and she keeps me from making bad choices. Sometimes you really need more than just that voice in your head.

Before she left for Europe, we did a quick trip to Kohl’s together. I hadn’t been in a long while even though I love the Lauren Conrad and Simply Vera lines they carry. They usually have good sales racks too. Never buy anything full price at Kohl’s. It’s a rip off. They have way too many promotions anyway if you don’t mind a few extra emails a month.

This dress is one of the deals we scored that day. Only $20 plus 15% off. I had been eying the lace dresses for a while now but didn’t want to pay too much for this trend. I actually even wore this outfit for James’ birthday dinner downtown. It’ll make a great summer go-to dress and I can even see it transitioning into fall with a great pair of boots and leather coat.

Dress | Sonoma from Kohl’s
Shoes | Nine West from forever ago but these would be cute too!
Earrings | Vintage
Bracelets | Don’t remember…
