In My Closet | Daring Floral

I bought these jeans earlier this year and got a great deal on them. They aren’t something I would have paid full price for because they are trendy and not something I’d get a lot of use out of. But they are so pretty!

I asked my Instagram followers a couple weeks back to help me with what to pair with them. I tried gray, beige and chambray…all of them pretty drab. The fashionable ladies of Instagram recommended jewel tone and it was perfect! I think it definitely needs to be a blue/green or magenta jewel tone. An emerald looked odd and purple was a no go. This was the only option left in my closet and I like how it looks. I even changed out the jewelry – one set golds, the other silver – for two different looks.

Blouse | Mossimo for Target (I think this would be a great color too)
Jeans | The Limited
Shoes | Franco Sarto (try this pair!)
Earrings| Vintage (good option)
Bracelets| World Market (or these)

And with silver jewelry…maybe a little more casual? A different shoe would help dress it down too. I like these

I am excited to go out and find a few more shirts that would work especially some that aren’t as dressy so I can wear the jeans more often.

In My Closet | Day or Night

I love a good deal, I mean who doesn’t? And good deals on clothes are even better. The top and shorts only cost me $12 total! I am really excited to wear this outfit and maybe even add tights when the weather cools a bit. It’s a big maybe though…I may not be daring enough.

Top | Olivia Moon from Marshalls
Shorts | Mossimo from Target
Sandals | Bandolino from forever ago (These would also be cute!)
Earrings | World Market (These would be great!)

I think this outfit could be great for around town running errands, evening drinks on South Congress or brunch on Saturday morning. If I do wear this and am just doing errands, I’d probably wear different shoes. I love these sandals but all day wear is rough.

The shirt is kind of like a t-shirt in the front but more sheer in the back. Not just a boring tee.

In My Closet | So Bright

It’s Texas and it’s fall but it still feels like summer so I think this outfit will work for a bit longer. I am usually not into such bright colors but I love this pencil skirt and have yet to wear the top. I’ll definitely need to feel very brave the day I put this on.

I really want to wear the necklace too. I picked it up in a little shop in Port Aransas for about $12. I saw a similar necklace on Pinterest this week and felt very proud of myself for being so ahead of the trend.

The sandals are pretty neutral and I am not 100% in love with them for this outfit. I may swap them out for my plain gold ones or my brown wedges.

I have had the skirt for a while and wore it twice before it got thrown in my “needs mending” pile. The hem came down and I finally put the blind hem back in yesterday. Yay!

Top | Old Navy (similar)
Skirt | GAP (outlet – similar)
Sandals | Sam & Libby for Target – on sale!!
Necklace | Vintage

In My Closet | Pink and Navy

I’ve always struggled with wearing shorts. Finding the right length and fit and then just being comfortable in them. I have a hard time feeling put together when I wear shorts. I have always admired people who put them on with more than a t-shirt, great jewelry and even heels (my younger sister does this really well). This is my ‘light’ attempt at ‘dressing up’ a pair of shorts (in a color I’ve never worn!!).

Shirt | Marshalls
Shorts | GAP  (outlet mall)
Sandals | Target
Watch | Viscid (Only I didn’t have to pay the Anthro price! Thanks Jess!!)

The shirt I scored for only $10! It’s a really pretty material too, two thin layers. Love stripes!

In My Closet | Chambray and Pleats

I love fashion. I mean, really love fashion. I seriously considered going into fashion design after high school or something fashion related. I’ve made a few things for myself over the years…some cute, some not so successful. I love watching Project Runway too and during every season, I get the itch to sew or design or sign up for classes. Well, I haven’t designed or created anything…yet…but I am pushing myself to ‘design’ with what I have in my own closet.

Chambray shirt | Old Navy
Pleated skirt | Merona (Similar)
Sandals | City Classified from Make Me Chic
Bracelets | World Market

I have a Pinterest board dedicated to looks and styles that I like and would like to experiment with, but I also wanted to create my own virtual closet. I have too many mornings where I stand in my closet thinking I have nothing to wear or feeling uninspired. Hopefully doing this will solve that problem. Granted, I don’t ‘dress’ up everyday…I mean I have a 1 year old who likes to play in the mud…some clothes just don’t mix with mud.
