Spring Visit | McKinney Falls State Park | 03.2017

We’ve been cooped up for the weekend because of Hurricane Harvey. The amount of rain we’ve received has been amazing. I enjoy a few rainy days here and there but I need my sunshine. I am so ready for this to slow especially for those along the coast that have lost so much already.

All the rain has me thinking about warmer spring days like the one we enjoyed back in March at McKinney Falls State Park. It started out chilly but quickly warmed up and we hiked and picnicked with family.

Easter 2017

We had our family Easter celebration the day before Easter. We wanted the kids to hunt eggs together and have some cousin time.

It was such a great day. I planned a brunch menu and everything was so good. I wish I could have eaten more! You can visit me on IG for photo of the whole spread. Yum!!

Here was my menu and follow this link for my Pinterest board and recipes used.
– Eggs Benedict Casserole
– Easy Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread
– Asparagus
– Sausages
– Caprese Salad
– Fruit Salad

William usually has to sit in between the girls, at their request. Haha!

Lucas and Pearl were asleep during the egg hunt so we did separate hunts for the each of them with a few eggs.

And I had fun doing a little mini shoot with this sweetie. She was checking out the flowers and being adorable.

Oma and Opa Visit | April 2017

We had a great visit with Oma and Opa in April. There was lots of playing, eating and fun. I feel like having visitors and going places is getting to be so much easier with the boys now, especially since we are past the newborn stage. I feel like I am a less stressed mom and can enjoy the visits more.

We didn’t have a whole lot planned while they were here. They visited William’s school, we had BBQ, went to Hays City Store and had good late night chats. I know the boys had a wonderful time too. Lucas asked for Oma for a couple days after they left. Then he would say, Oma went home?

I have more photos of the visit on my IG feed but made a point to get non-phone photos too. I especially wanted some good photos for our walls so the boys could see pictures of Oma and Opa all the time.

Stealing a sip of Oma’s almond milk.

We had a lot of rain during their visit but also some lovely weather for sitting outside.

A few of these will definitely be on the walls. Love them!!

Be sure to follow me on IG and see the awesome picture of all the Hafner boys ready for a bike ride.

And why does William look 13 in this photo??

A Day for Poppies | Castroville, TX | 3.31.2017

After our visit last year to Castroville to see the poppies, I was looking forward to seeing them again this year. I managed to squeeze in a day trip with the boys which was perfect.

I love these kids so much and how much they love each other. I know I’ve said it alot but I am so happy we are close enough that they can grow up together. I hope they are always friends no matter where they end up.

Seriously, it’s just so amazing and beautiful.

MusikGarten | William’s First Music Class

This week was William’s final MusikGarten class with Mrs. Silvia and his friends. I was a little sad to see it come to an end but it was a fun 17 weeks.

My sister, Jessica actually told me about the music class for toddlers since it was offered by Clavier-Werke where she teaches piano. I had been looking for some kind of class I could do with him and this one fit the bill – both in price and location. Mrs. Silvia is a wonderful teacher too! Oh my goodness, she has so much patience, working with our crazy toddlers.

There were four little ones in the class: William, Evie, Mateo and Conor. This was our last class and the kiddos with their certificates. How cute are they!?

It’s definitely a very active class for both the kiddos and parents. I know I got my workout! There were a few times where I could tell William wasn’t interested in being there and then other times he was totally focused and playing along. The last two classes, strangely enough, he was the most active and outgoing he’s ever been. Even if he wasn’t as engaged during class, I could always tell he was paying attention. We’d get home and he’d sing the songs again or dance or do something exactly as it had been done in class. It’s just amazing to me how much he retains. He’s my little musician at home and I love his “jam” sessions with his little keyboard and drums aka empty oatmeal containers.

As long as he seems interested in music I want to continue some kind of class with/for him. Mrs. Silvia is offering the MusikGarten class again this fall so I’ll probably sign us up. If you have a baby or toddler and want more info, check the Clavier-Werke site or let me know and I can pass it along!

Mini Session | Hempel Family

I love when past wedding clients come back to me for family photos. I met with Karen and Chris at Pease Park for their session with Brodie. He was looking quite dapper in his lime green bow tie.

Later that evening we met up again for another session with their extended family.

And that wraps up my Spring Mini Sessions! Thanks again to my wonderful clients. It’s always a pleasure!
